SAP for Manufacturing, Materials & Mining Conference to bring industrial leaders together in Rome

More than 300 senior leaders from across manufacturing, materials, mining and related industries will gather in Rome on 13–14 October for the SAP for Manufacturing, Materials & Mining Conference 2026, exploring how organisations are using enterprise technology, AI and data to accelerate transformation and build more resilient operations.

Organised by TAC Insights, the two-day conference will bring together industry executives, technology leaders and experienced practitioners for customer case studies, executive keynotes, roundtable discussions and interactive sessions focused on the challenges and opportunities facing industrial organisations today.

The latest programme explores how organisations are leveraging SAP, AI, data and digital technologies to drive operational excellence, strengthen resilience and accelerate transformation, with key themes including ERP modernisation, artificial intelligence, supply chain resilience, smart manufacturing, sustainability and the future of industrial technology.

The conference will feature perspectives from organisations including Prysmian, BHP, Ahlstrom, Covestro, LyondellBasell, Holcim, ArcelorMittal, Perstorp, Decospan, Daikin Comfort, SAICA and Bamburi Cement, alongside senior SAP and industry experts.

A major focus will be the transformation of enterprise resource planning. Sessions will examine real-world journeys including LyondellBasell’s move to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, Perstorp’s SAP S/4HANA transformation, Ahlstrom’s use of two-tier ERP to support acquisitions, and SAICA’s strategic decisions around its SAP S/4HANA transformation.

AI and intelligent industry will also feature prominently. Prysmian will share its experience of scaling AI across a global manufacturing enterprise, while sessions throughout the programme will explore AI-powered maintenance, digital twins, business AI and the foundations required to turn AI investment into measurable business value.

For materials and mining organisations, the programme includes dedicated sessions examining the use of AI and autonomous enterprise technologies in metals and mining, the digital mine, innovation across metals operations, and the future of manufacturing execution across paper, packaging, metals and building materials.

Supply chain resilience and operational excellence are also central themes, with sessions examining strategic sourcing, connected business data, asset intelligence and digital transformation across complex industrial environments. Sustainability will be explored through topics including sustainable supply chains, traceability, regulatory compliance and the integration of sustainability data into core business processes.

Stefan Weisenberger, Global VP, Head of Mill Products & Mining Industries at SAP, said:

“This conference is a unique connection point for industry executives, domain experts, and business leaders across the manufacturing and mining industries. Attendees will hear from experienced practitioners and cutting-edge trailblazers on how SAP technology is being used to build more resilient supply chains, compete through customer-facing innovation – faster, smarter, easier – and raise the bar in optimising reliability, cost, and safety of operations.

“It brings together hidden champions, global leaders, and agile innovators in a true round-table environment, where everyone learns from everyone. The focus is on sharing real-world experience, sparking new ideas, and taking away insights that are tested, validated, and industry-proven.”

The conference will take place at Cardo Roma Hotel, Rome, Italy, on 13–14 October 2026, providing attendees with opportunities to hear directly from organisations undertaking major transformation programmes and to exchange practical experiences with peers across the industrial value chain.
