ENGINEERED AROUND YOUR APPLICATION High-pressure pumps and gas boosters designed to fit the application — not the other way around.

When it comes to high-pressure pumps and gas boosters, maximum pressure is often the first specification people look at. But anyone who works with this equipment every day knows that there is much more to consider. Reliability, maintenance time, spare parts costs and the ability to adapt a product to a specific application can make a significant difference over the lifetime of a system. This is the approach behind MPS, a brand of Lavorazioni Tecnologiche Srl, an Italian manufacturer of air-driven high-pressure pumps and gas boosters. MPS designs and manufactures air- driven liquid pumps up to 4,000 bar and gas boosters up to 2,000 bar, for applications including Oil & Gas, pressure testing, hydrotesting, valve and component testing, gas compression and gas transfer.

When a standard product is not enough
Not every application can be solved by selecting a product from a catalogue. Sometimes there is limited space. Sometimes operating conditions, materials, pressure ratios or system interfaces require something different. And sometimes the customer simply has a problem that a standard solution does not solve efficiently.
This is where MPS takes a different approach. Rather than asking customers to adapt their systems around an existing pump, MPS can adapt or develop the pump around the customer’s application.

Over the years, this approach has led the company to develop customised solutions in close cooperation with major industrial companies. MPS also has extensive experience in OEM and private-label manufacturing, developing products that can be integrated directly into a customer’s equipment and, when required, supplied under the customer’s own brand. The objective is not simply to supply a component, but to become a reliable partner in solving a specific engineering problem.

Designed with maintenance in mind
The real cost of a high-pressure pump does not end with its purchase price. During its operating life, maintenance, spare parts, technician time and equipment downtime all contribute to the Total Cost of Ownership. For this reason, maintainability is considered from the early stages of MPS product development. MPS pumps are designed with the objective of making routine servicing simple and fast, reducing unnecessary complexity and helping technicians return the equipment to operation as quickly as possible. The same philosophy applies to spare parts and maintenance kits, which are offered at competitive costs to help customers control maintenance expenditure throughout the life of the equipment.  The result is a simple idea: a competitive product should not only be competitive when it is purchased. It should remain competitive every time it needs to be serviced.

From supplier to engineering partner
For manufacturers of pressure-testing equipment, test benches, Oil & Gas equipment, gas systems and special machinery, a high-pressure pump is often one critical component within a much larger system. In these applications, flexibility can be as important as performance.

MPS can work directly with OEMs and system manufacturers to modify existing configurations or develop dedicated solutions according to specific technical requirements. This ability to combine manufacturing with application-specific development allows MPS to approach the customer relationship differently. The starting point is not simply: “Which pump do you need?” It is: “What are you trying to achieve?” Understanding the application first often leads to a better solution.

Made in Italy, built for international industry MPS products are designed and manufactured in Italy by Lavorazioni Tecnologiche Srl, combining in- house manufacturing experience with the flexibility required to develop customised solutions. EN 10204 3.1 material certificates are available where applicable, while Lavorazioni Tecnologiche Srl is currently completing its ISO 9001 quality management system certification.

As MPS expands its presence in the international Oil & Gas and industrial markets, its philosophy remains straightforward: reliable performance, practical maintenance and the flexibility to develop the right product around the customer’s requirements. Because in demanding high-pressure applications,  the best solution is not always the one already available in a catalogue. Sometimes, the pump should adapt to the application — not the other way around. MPS – a brand of Lavorazioni Tecnologiche Srl
