TMA is an Italian winch manufacturer, established in 1987. Since its beginning, TMA has been manufacturing only winches and it can be considered a worldwide leader in this field.
From Spilamberto, Modena, in the very heart of both “Hydraulic” and “Motor Valley”, we design and build hoisting and pulling winches for every application and very different sectors.
Just to mention a few: compact winches for truck cranes, high speed winches for mobile cranes, special winches for drilling machines, customized winches for marine application and special low magnetism winches for military sector.
Every step of the productive process is strictly controlled from our staff, and the use of high quality materials and experienced suppliers defines TMA winches as the most reliable solution.
Safety always comes first, so each of the roughly 2000 winches we produce is individually load and overload tested before shipment, while a test report is always prepared and sent to Customer. Furthermore, our after sales service provides the best assistance to guarantee optimal and continued use of the products.
TMA is able to design and manufacture full customized winches, fulfilling special requirements of the application. We operate in compliance with the severe norms applied by main Register Societies, with whom we daily cooperate especially in marine sector, one of our key sectors.
Electric or hydraulic driven winches, standard or double drum, single or multiple motor input, in line or orthogonal mechanical transmission are just some samples of the versions that can be provided. Personnel lifting winches with a hoisting capacity up to 50% of the cargo hoisting capacity, with a secondary brake acting on the drum, can also be studied and designed, and completed with load limiting or load detection devices, two very reliable systems, providing results with extreme accuracy. Constant tension, MOPS and AOPS valve blocks are required accessories for ship-to-ship crane application. An emergency lowering device is also on the
list of standard accessories, among a complete range of other components to complete the products: wire ropes, pulley blocks, tension rollers and so on.
We believe that marine applications need components of the highest quality level to ensure the reliability of the whole piece of equipment. Thanks to our thirty-year experience in the field, we can provide a choice of winch ranges especially designed for operations in the sea, even at low temperatures (-40°C). The design itself and the selection of the most suitable materials (for example tension rollers frame in AISI 316) increase the protection of the winch.
Besides, we have developed several painting procedures to provide the best protection in marine environment (with sandblasting, with metalizing and Norsok approved).
