FIC heat transfer solutions

The use and transfer of energy must be done more and more efficiently in order to have production processes sustainable and acceptable. Pillow- plates represent a technology in the field of heat transfer capable of giving positive responses to these challenges and at the same time combining innovation, versatility and competitiveness.

FIC SPA owns this technology and is specialized in the study of customized solutions that find application in many industries. Thanks to cutting edge welding lines and facilities and to unique proprietary software FIC is able to identify the best solution for specific contexts and operating conditions.

Some of FIC solutions for energy recovery

FLUE GAS CONDENSER and ECONOMIZERS: these are heat- exchangers and complete systems for energy recovery from combustion gases (flue gases) in biomass-fired plants or waste incineration. These energy sources are finding more and more space in many industrial production environments; with the condensation of the moisture of the flue gases it is possible to increase the system efficiency up to 20-25% with short pay-back time.

PROCESS-THERM: Heat exchangers for heat recovery downstream drying systems, for example in spray dryer lines (production of milk powder, detergents etc), in paper machines, gypsum plants etc. The range of heat- recovery goes from 500 kW up to 5-6 MW and the investment is paid back in 1-2 years.

Bulk Solid Heat Exchangers
FIC supplies Bulk Solid Heat Exchangers (BSHE) used in production lines of granular solids that need to be cooled or heated. With BSHE energy consumption is drastically reduced compared to traditional systems and the product quality is totally preserved. BSHE are used to cool fertilizers (e.g Urea, Nitrogen and Phosphate based, KCl and lots more), sugar, biosolids etc. or to heat oilseeds (soybean, rapeseeds, sunflowers etc). Other applications are also possible e.g. for sand, wood pellet, coffee, etc.

Chemical and petrochemical
In process vessels and tanks the use of clamp-on systems for jacketing vessels results in precise and uniform temperature control. Typical applications are for polymerization reactors, synthesis reactors, storage vessels.
Pillow plates can be used to control temperature also inside chemical reactors or thermal separation units like crystallizers, evaporators, columns etc. FIC manufactures in A304, 316L, 321, 904L, Duplex and Superduplex, SMO254 and lots more. Main FIC certifications are ISO 9001, ASME U-Stamp, CE/PED, ISO 3834.
