Terranova Instruments for the measurement and control of industrial processes

Since almost 50 years Terranova® has been carrying out an activity of design and production of instrumentation for the measurement and control of industrial processes in the variables of level, pressure, temperature, flow rate, differential pressure, specific weight and presence of liquid. The instrumentation supplied in the sector includes food connections, typically swivel and triclamp, but for specific measuring positions, flanged and threaded versions are also available with P TFE coating and membranes in HC, Tantalum, Titanium or other materials on request. The fluids measured concern in particular the control of drinks such as milk , juices, mineral waters, wines, liqueurs and aperitifs in general.

The most requested measuring instruments for the sector concern pressure and level transmitters of the T7 and 27 series both in integral and remote versions and the ultrasonic level switches of the ASL series .

The T 7 s e rie s transmitters (Figure 1) include a complete range of 4-20mA output transmitters with Hart® communication protocol and with integrated or remote electronics.
The completely stainless-steel construction of the IP68 case makes the T7 series particularly suitable for installations in environments with aggressive atmospheres and they can be made complete with fluid separators in AIS I 316, special alloys or gold plated for applications on corrosive fluids.

They are equipped with SMART- type electronics enclosed in an AIS I 316 stainless steel case which allows for great sturdiness and are characterized by the presence of a microcontroller which allows zero and span adjustment using local buttons or by hand-held device.
The instrument is able to achieve in standard cases an accuracy of 0.25% and, if required, an accuracy of less than 0.075%.
The 2 7 series analogue pressure and level transmitters (Figure 2) are characterized by a standard 1) include a complete range of 4-20mA output transmitters with Hart ® communication protocol and with integrated or remote electronics . The 27 series analogue pressure and level transmitters (Figure 2) are characterized by a standard 4 ÷20mA current output (or 0 ÷5V, 0 ÷10V voltage), have a total measurement accuracy of ±0.25 % in the temperature range -40 ÷85°C and are entirely built in stainless steel. The housing can be combined with different types of electrical connections, including: DIN43650, M12 straight or angled connectors, MIL connectors, direct cable output, cable glands or stainless- steel fittings on Ø55mm housing equipped with terminal block .

The A S L s e rie s (Figure 3) features ultrasonic technology and is designed to monitor the level of liquids, detect liquid entering the tank, prevent overfill situations and signal high or low level situations, as well as the presence of liquid, ex ploiting the propagation of acoustic waves in a metal antenna and detecting the interference caused by the damping of sound waves when the liquid covers the antenna.
