Story of the Company
The Company Trafileria Alessandro Ronconi SpA was founded in 1937 in Milan by Mr. Alessandro Ronconi as a small company with great attention to Client’s requirements and service. In the 60s the Company grew up with focus on tubes for exchangers, boilers and superheaters, following the Italian grow up in the chemical industry. By the time the company was moved from Milan to Opera, the present location. In the late 80s, the company was bought by an important German Group with the objective to increase its position on the Italian market. In this period the company changed almost all its machineries implementing new technologies. Since 2001 the company is independent, but it is still in strong partnership with steel mills. All raw materials come from West Europe mills. The name has been changed in 2006 to Ronconi SpA.
The Company today
Ronconi SpA is today a small-midsize company producing cold drawn tubes and pipes with pretty a large range of dimensions (OD from 8 to 180mm – 3/8” to 6”) and steel grades, from low carbon steel A179, A192 up to alloy steel such as T1, T11, T12, T22, T5, T9 and T91. In the last 2 years Ronconi SpA has also started supplying stainless steel such as TP304 /H/L, TP316 /H/L/Ti, TP 321 /H including duplex steel grades. All these steel grades are according to ASTM/ASME norm, but can also be supplied according to EN, UNI, DIN, BS and AFNOR Norms. Furthermore, tubes can also supplied as “U” bended, finned tubes, according to Client’s requirements. Points of strengths of the company are the very short delivery terms, especially for alloy steel, even for small deliveries. The company buys raw material for its own warehouse and produce on Client’s demand. The competitive edge of the company is the flexibility of products, quick deliveries and the great attention to the Client’s requirements.
Assets and Facilities of the Factory
The main assets of the company are:
-cold and hot pointing machines;
-pickling for carbon, low and high alloy steel;
-5 draw benches from 7 to 100 tons;
-continuous furnace for heat treatments in controlled atmosphere;
-straightening machines with Not Destructive Testing (eddy current and ultrasonic testing);
-finishing machines for cutting, deburring, oiling, wooden cases and other packaging;
-laboratory for mechanical tests, Chemical Analysis, PWHT, micrography.
Quality Assurance
Ronconi SpA is ISO 9001, PED certified (TÜV) and cooperates with 3rd party inspectors, such as TUV, Bureau Veritas, Lloyd Register, DNV, Germanischer Lloyd, RINA, ISPESL.
