Building on a legacy of engineering precision and field-tested reliability, Cartubi continues to strengthen its position as a Tier-1 partner for the world’s leading energy players. After a year marked by substantial growth supported by innovation and excellence in maintenance services, the company is launching a major industrial campaign that highlights its technical depth: the five-year Special Survey and class renewal of the Saipem 10000.

A Strategic Hub in the Mediterranean
In late April, Cartubi’s specialized teams will mobilize at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo. This three-month project leverages a strong synergy between Cartubi’s operational expertise and the infrastructure of one of Italy’s premier maritime hubs. The project focuses on the mandatory RINA Class renewal, a process requiring absolute precision, rigorous safety protocols, and a multidisciplinary approach to offshore asset integrity.

Core Focus: Drilling and Subsea Innovation
While the scope covers the entire vessel, the technical heart of the project lies in the maintenance of drilling and subsea equipment. To meet the energy industry’s increasing efficiency demands, Cartubi’s production division will execute critical upgrades and extraordinary maintenance to ensure these systems exceed evolving global Oil & Gas standards. Technical specification includes:

Propulsion and Manoeuvrability: Complete replacement of six azimuth thrusters—a high-precision task critical for the vessel’s dynamic positioning.
Structural Integrity: Hull cleaning, fairing, and comprehensive inspections of boiler ducts and ballast water treatment systems.
•Lifting and Safety Systems: Major maintenance of all onboard lifting equipment, anchor windlasses and mooring systems to surpass international safety regulations.
•Onboard Infrastructure: Extensive renewal of internal deck coatings, stairs, railings, and watertight doors, along with upgrades to living quarters and the helideck.

Synergy of Expertise: Internal Mastery and OEM Collaboration

A defining feature of this project is the integration of elite human and technical resources. Cartubi will deploy its own specialized support vessels—ANT and LUCIO—to support logistics at the Palermo site.

The operation combines Cartubi’s highly trained internal workforce with leading Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technicians. This synergy of field-tested experience and specialized manufacturer knowledge ensures that every repair is executed with the highest technical integrity.

Engineering the Future of Offshore Services
For Cartubi, the Saipem 10000 project is more than a contract; it is a testament to the company’s ability to manage the complexities of modern energy infrastructure. By merging traditional craftsmanship with innovative project management and a culture of absolute safety, Cartubi continues to set new standards in the offshore industry. In an evolving global energy landscape, Cartubi remains committed to supporting the industry as a reliable link in the global supply chain.
