OVER FORTY YEARS OF COMPANY HISTORY MARKED BY CONTINUOUS GROWTH
With a strong industrial heritage and a clear vision for long-term development, Faro Bearings has established itself over the decades as a solid and reliable
player in the precision mechanics sector. Guided by a philosophy based on technological progress, manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement, the company has grown steadily while staying true to its core values. Today, the company continues to evolve, combining tradition and innovation to meet the demanding expectations of the global market.

FARO BEARINGS
“Since 1981, we keep your business moving”
Founded in the early 1980s as a trading company, in 1984 Faro Bearings merged with another company in the sector to begin producing special bearings, becoming a joint-stock company (S.p.A.). However, it was in 1989 that the company began its real expansion, thanks to new shareholders and an increase in capital. In the years that followed, the philosophy of the new management team was to reinvest profits both in new production machinery and inspection equipment— and, above all, in human resources.
The growing demands of the market encouraged integration with another company specialized in production process technology, enabling Faro Bearings to double its turnover. Meanwhile, a total renewal program of the machinery fleet was launched, introducing increasingly modern equipment.
In 1997, the company’s capital was doubled to self-finance the move to a new facility, which laid the foundation for further increasing production capacity and offering customers an even more efficient service.
With a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, Faro Bearings took concrete steps to minimize the environmental impact of its processes, products, and services, and to certify the reliability of its environmental management system—earning ISO 14001 certification in 2005.
Subsequently, Faro Bearings also achieved ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification.

QUALITY CONTROL: THE COMPANY’S FLAGSHIP
When it comes to special production— often carried out in small batches— quality control is essential. Over the years, the company has set up a testing room that includes, in addition to measuring instruments (no fewer than 1,200 in total), a machine capable of inspecting and calibrating all measuring devices in-house.
Given that many measurements are taken within the micron range, precision and perfect calibration of all equipment are absolutely crucial.
The Faro Bearings Group specializes in the manufacture of cylindrical, tapered, and ball bearings—both radial and axial— meeting the needs of machine tool builders and a wide range of industrial sectors.
Drawing on decades of experience, Faro Bearings designs and manufactures both standard and special bearings, using high-quality production technologies to create products that are not easily found on the market.
PRODUCTION METHODS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Having always invested in its Quality Management System, Faro Bearings has adopted the Lean Production philosophy and the 5S methodology.
This approach enabled the company to quickly complete the process for ISO 9001:2015 certification, achieved in October 2017.
This milestone marks another key step in strengthening the Faro Bearings brand, already well-known and appreciated worldwide.

INNOVATION AT FARO BEARINGS
In its ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, Faro Bearings invested in a new metrology laboratory in 2019. The laboratory, covering 100 m2, was built inside the company’s Calendasco (PC) plant. It features an isolated structure with temperature-controlled Class 1 rooms maintained at 20°C, with an allowable variation of 0.5°C per hour, 0.5°C per day, and 0.5°C per meter, separated by an acclimatization chamber.
The lab houses two Zeiss coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) with different characteristics, which have enhanced Faro’s dimensional inspection capabilities—allowing measurement of bearings up to 2,000 mm in diameter and improved form control for particularly heavy components.
The flagship of the facility is the Zeiss Prismo Ultra, equipped with a rotary table and the first of its kind to arrive in Italy.
This bridge-type CMM, made of carbon fiber and ceramic composite materials, uses computer-guided corrections for all dynamic influences on the machine— optimizing precision during high-speed scanning.
The machine can perform measurements with accuracy up to one-tenth of a micron. Its integrated rotary table, supported by air bearings, ensures perfectly smooth motion and extremely accurate form measurement, extending control capabilities up to 1,000 mm in diameter.
Also bridge-structured, the Zeiss Accura 2000 is made of steel and aluminum and offers a large measuring range of 2,000 x 2,400 x 1,000 mm. It is equipped with a fixed active measuring head that provides high precision and exceptional stability.
