VALVES WITH ADDED VALUE: BREMER’S PATH FROM TRADITION TO TECHNOLOGICAL LEADERSHIP

With roots in Italian engineering tradition and a strategic outlook geared toward tomorrow’s industries, Bremer Valves has steadily evolved from a family business into a
trusted global partner. Today, the company blends technical expertise with a forward-thinking mindset, embracing new technologies and markets while maintaining strong customer relationships around the world. Its growth is driven by a commitment to product excellence, responsiveness to industrial challenges, and a corporate culture that values people as much as performance. In this article, we explore how Bremer Valves continues to shape its future through innovation, global expansion, and sustainable development.

Goals and developments of the Bremer Valves team, a historic company with an eye to the future
Bremer Valves S.R.L. is a company that has gone through different eras, focusing on innovation and exploring new markets. Over the last twenty years, it has offered its international customers customized solutions, having long since surpassed the limits of standardized products. “We currently have projects underway with products designed specifically for the cryogenic gas market, which is booming at the moment.
We aim to adapt our products to the changing demands of customers and the trends in various sectors,” says Cesare Merlini at the vertex of the company founded by his father and uncle in 1947 In Barzago, near Milan, and brought into the modern era with foresight, recognizing the potential of new sectors to maintain a high level of competitiveness. The valves department increased so much that the Merlini brothers decided to switch manufacturing only to ball valves: trunnion mounted, floating, bottom outlet, double block and bleed valves.

The range of ball valves has expanded over the years, but the constant activity of the R&D department has also enabled other products to be implemented. One in particular, which has been under development for some years, is the combined air release vacuum breaker valve, used in seawater desalination plants or wastewater treatment plants. Bremer Valves is also known for supplying spare parts, including those for products that can be up to 40 years old. In this way it is always available to all customers, even the most long-standing and historic ones.

Valves dimensions range from 1⁄2” to 30” and can be manufactured in standard carbon steel or in stainless steel, duplex, super duplex titanium or exotics alloys, following the API 6D and ISO9001 standard.

Global growth, diversity and sustainable vision driving future expansion
“In addition to the oil & gas market, we serve the chemical industry, desalination plants, and wastewater treatment plants. Lately, especially for oil & gas, we have been supplying automated valves with added value. We are a sought-after partner, particularly in the Middle East and Far East where our solutions’ excellence is highly appreciated.” It is precisely in these geographical areas that Bremer Valves has consolidated its commercial position, as well as in Europe and Asia.

The pride of the Barzago-based company is its multi-ethnic team with a large female presence. “We have hired new and capable professionals, the average age in the company is 38, and there is excellent integration between senior and junior staff.”

Bremer Valves is also complying with all ESG regulations relating to the environment, gender equality, and governance.
“We plan to publish our first sustainability report very soon,” says Merlini, who also plans to expand the current headquarters in view of the many challenges ahead.

“With this qualified, diverse, and open- minded team, we are ready to expand into new regions of the world and satisfy even new market niches,” concludes the owner.
