UFS, NEARLY 80 YEARS OF PASSION IN THE WORLD OF THREADING
UFS has been, since 1947, a manufacturer specialized in threading tools. It designs, produces, and markets a range of products, also supplying them under “private label” if requested. Cutting taps (chip-removal), forming taps (thread-rolling), gauges, dies, and instruments for thread inspection and calibration.
It also manufactures “special” products based on customer drawings or in co- design.
Over the past 30 years, the company has been able to adapt its resources to market needs through technical, production, and organizational transformations that have characterized its constant development.
Production expansions, new research departments, the use of latest-generation computerized systems for order management and planning, and quality certifications have been natural and continuous evolutions that have consolidated the organization of internal resources and tasks, allowing the achievement of excellent productivity and complete control over the entire operating process. The activity takes place in three plants that perform complementary operations of the entire product manufacturing cycle.
Site 1 is an area with 50 production units; mainly special CNC grinding machines, but also washing, polishing, drilling, marking, coating, and labeling systems.
A short distance away is Site 2. This facility hosts the most advanced technologies, including the technical office, the R&D area, and plasma coating furnaces (PVD).
Finally, there is Site 3, where blanks are produced. Starting from bars of special steels, the production cycle begins in the turning departments, followed by the delicate hardening and tempering phase. In the metrology laboratory, dedicated to all metallographic analyses, careful inspections are carried out on the heat- treated tools, including hardness testing of batches and carbide control.
