Ucinque, Among the Vineyards of Monferrato
Monferrato, renowned for its wines, has historically represented the “Italian Hub of Refrigeration.” It was here, in the aftermath of World War II, that the first cold storage rooms for meat preservation were built, thanks to refrigeration systems left behind by the Allies. Since then, the region has seen a continuous rise of companies dedicated to the preservation, transportation, and display of food and beverages.
Ucinque was founded in Asti in 2014, born from the collaboration of five professionals with over thirty years of experience in the refrigeration sector. Today, Ucinque is headquartered in Occimiano (AL), operating a production site of over 50,000 square meters, formerly owned by the renowned IAR-Siltal. From its inception, Ucinque has been committed to meeting all the needs of its clients, both in terms of products and services.
PRODUCTS
Ucinque offers five product lines: Beverage, Wine, Ice Cream, Supermarket, and Catering. These ranges are constantly evolving year after year to keep pace with customer demands.
Within each range, U5 offers both “Made in Italy” refrigerators, manufactured at its Occimiano facility, and refrigerators produced by its partners.
The former are innovative refrigerators, designed by professional designers and often patented. At U5, these are referred to as “EMOTIONAL” refrigerators, in the belief that a refrigerator must be visually appealing to be placed at a Point of Sale and to attract consumers.
A prime example is the Via Veneto range (U5 Patent), which revives the design of the traditional gelato display freezers of the 1950s and 1960s, combined with modern, reliable thermodynamics.
Another example is the Glamour vertical showcases, which feature exceptional, contemporary design and offer maximum product visibility.
The latter are “RATIONAL” refrigerators—robust and reliable units produced by U5’s carefully selected European and Asian partners, according to U5’s exact specifications. The Eureka line, for example, consists of traditional beverage coolers that are highly sought after for their renowned reliability. In every case, U5 offers refrigerators using HC gases, both in polyurethane foams and in refrigeration systems—gases considered environmentally friendly.
U5’s R&D department is constantly searching for innovative solutions to further reduce energy consumption, all while maintaining competitive pricing—a true challenge. Similarly, Ucinque aims to minimize environmental impact regarding plastics: all ABS plastics used by Ucinque contain 85% recycled material.
QUALITY
At U5, quality is a strategic choice, pursued through the costly path of vertical integration.
In other words, U5 strives to manufacture most components in-house, allowing direct control over the quality of every part. This is the case with the doors of vertical showcases—a crucial component of all vertical refrigerators—as well as the in-house digital sheet metal printing machine. At the end of the production cycle, every unit undergoes 24-hour testing, with operational data recorded for each refrigerator.
As recognition for these efforts, just two years after its founding, on December 22, 2016, U5 achieved ISO 9001 certification.
