HIGHTEMPERATURE PET PACKAGING
The world of packaging is on the verge of a new chapter in innovation and sustainability, and OMG is once again set to take center stage on the international scene. With great anticipation surrounding its presence at K 2025, the company promises to impress audiences with cuttingedge technological solutions, born from years of research and development, designed to meet the increasingly complex demands of the global market. From exploring alternative materials to pioneering advanced production processes and integrating sophisticated machinery, OMG reaffirms its commitment to combining performance, safety, and environmental responsibility. K 2025 will thus offer not only a glimpse into the latest industry advancements but also a hands-on experience of the potential of tomorrow’s materials and technologies.

Once again, OMG is preparing to captivate the international audience at K 2025 with a technological lineup that combines innovation, sustainability, and versatility. The most advanced projects currently under development include the collaboration with Thermapet to produce thermoformed TPET containers capable of withstanding both conventional and microwave ovens without being subject to deformation or structural failure.

This technical solution, the result of intensive research and development, has already been integrated into a prototype pilot machine now working in Thailand on the facility of the patent holder of the process. A machine compatible with the new “patent pending” device that will be not shown it will be unveiled at OMG’s booth (Hall 3, Stand D06), where visitors will be able to observe the finished product – a tub – up close and receive samples for practical testing.

The goal is to offer a direct and tangible experience of the performance of the new item, which has withstood extreme testing, such as containing boiling oil at 190°C, maintaining its shape and
functionality intact.

Technology and sustainability: a winning combination
In addition to PET, OMG demonstrates its strong focus on alternative materials by developing thermoforming machines capable of processing CPET, CPLA, and even dry paper. These materials can be processed without starting from preforms, using standard machines and operating directly on the mould to crystallise the material. This approach allows for shapes like those obtained with conventional plastics, but with a potentially reduced environmental impact.

“While we remain convinced of the irreplaceable qualities of plastics in many applications,” states Simonetti, “we cannot ignore the growing interest in alternative materials. It is important to be able to offer solutions not influenced by ideologies or prejudices but based on pragmatism and technical expertise.”

The packaging of the future: efficient, safe, and sustainable
During the K 2025 fair, pictures and demos will show the performance of the tubs at high temperatures. A video, shot during the tests with boiling oil, highlights the material’s resistance and thermal stability, revealing what often remains confined to laboratories. With these innovations, OMG confirms its position at the forefront of the thermoformed packaging sector, offering solutions that meet market needs in terms of performance, food safety, and sustainability. K 2025 will offer the company an opportunity to consolidate its role as a reliable and visionary technology partner.
