Since 1966 Bonfatti Filettature has rode innovation, and since 1985 it has specialized in “rolled threads“, doubling the production area up to today’s 2,600 square meters which highlight the continuous growth of the business and the success of the company.
The secret of the quality of our products lies in the production process; in fact, we don’t make the threading by removal but by the rolling process. Thread rolling is a cold deformation: here too, as in all permanent deformations, the material is stressed beyond the elasticity limit, so it becomes plastic and remains deformed. From a technical point of view, the rolled threads show a remarkable accuracy of the profile. By virtue of the pressurepolished surface, the corrosion resistance is significantly improved.
The resistance of the starting material improves in the areas deformed by rolling with an increase in the compressive strength against the threads obtained with the traditional chip removal. A pressure preload system is obtained at the base of the thread, which improves resistance to alternating stresses, increasing the duration of the product over time. The trend of the metal fibers, which has no cuts or interruptions, but follows the profile of the thread itself, is a guarantee of safety against breakage.
Cold working of the surface increases the tensile strength of the processed material, and static tension tests have frequently recorded increases over normal values.
Furthermore, since in the rolling of the threads the fibers of the material are not cut as in the conventional methods, but reshaped in continuous lines that follow the contours of the thread, the resistance to breaking by torsion is considerably higher than the average.
Finally, the resistance to fatigue, given the greater adherence ensured by the smoothness of the rolled threads, also increases compared to normal values. By rolling, it is possible to obtain, in addition to triangular threads, trapezoidal, special threads and knurls.
Our product types are different: threaded bar pitch ma class 5.6, 8.8 and 10.9 (according to 898-1 and EN1090), threaded bar pitch MB, threaded bar pitch MC, threaded bar pitch TPN, anchor bolt, u-bolt. Our products are available in the following materials: S235JR, S355J2, 41CrS4, 42CrMo4, 25CrMo4, AISI 303, AISI 304, AISI 316.

THREADED BAR PITCH MA CLASS 5.6
Mainly used in construction and mechanics, produced with S355J2 steel, in compliance with EN 10277 (for nonstructural steel) and EN 10025 (for structural steel) with the possibility of having CE marking according to EN 1090 from M.22 to M .130. The production range goes from diameter M.4 to M.130 with length from 10 mm to 6.000 mm with metric coarse thread (MA). The mechanical characteristics comply with class 5.6 of the UNI EN ISO 898-1: 2013 standard. The bars can be supplied with electrolytic galvanizing (maximum length 5,000 mm), hot dip galvanizing (maximum length 1,500 mm), Geomet.
THREADED BAR PITCH MA CLASS 8.8
Mainly used in construction and mechanics, produced with steel 41CrS4, 32CrB4, B7, 42CrMo4, 25CrMo4 in compliance with EN 10277 (for nonstructural steel) and EN 10343 (for
structural steel) with the possibility of having CE marking according to EN 1090 from M.8 to M.130.
The production range goes from diameter M.4 to M.130 with length from 10 mm to 6.000 mm with metric coarse thread (MA). The mechanical characteristics comply with class 8.8 of the UNI EN ISO 898-1: 2013 standard. The bars can be supplied with electrolytic galvanizing (maximum length 5,000 mm), hot dip galvanizing (maximum length 1,300 mm), Geomet.
THREADED ROD PITCH MA CLASS 10.9
Used in various sectors such as construction, mechanics, automotive and wind power, produced with 42CrMo4 compliance with EN 10277 (for nonstructural steel) and with EN 10343 (for structural steel) with the possibility of having CE marking according to EN 1090 from M.8 to M.130.
The production range goes from diameter M.4 to M.130 with length from 10 mm to 6.000 mm with metric coarse thread (MA).
The mechanical characteristics comply with class 10.9 of the UNI EN ISO 898-1: 2013 standard.
HIGH RESISTANCE MB PITCH TIE ROD
Mainly used in the automotive sector, produced with 42CrMo4 steel, in compliance with the EN 10277 standard.
The production range goes from diameter M.12 × 1.5 to M.60 × 4 with length 100 mm to 6.000 mm (from M.12 × 1.5 to M.36 × 3) – from 100 mm to 6.000 mm (from M. 36 × 3 to M.60 × 4) with metric fine thread (MB). The mechanical characteristics correspond to those of the EN 10277 standard.
The bars can be supplied with electrolytic galvanizing and dehydrogenation (maximum length 2,300 mm), hot dip galvanizing (maximum length 1,300 mm), Geomet, Zinkel, nitrocarburizing, cataphoresis.
STAINLESS STEEL THREADED BAR
Produced with AISI 304 – AISI 316 steels in compliance with the EN 10088- 3 standard.
The production range goes from diameter M.4 to M.130 with length from 100 mm to 6.000 mm with metric coarse thread (MA).
The mechanical characteristics comply with the provisions of the EN 10088-3 standard.
THREADED BAR PITCH TPN
Used in construction, mechanics, spare parts and packaging machines, produced with S235JR steel (for the whole range of diameters) AISI 304 for TPN20 – TPN25 – TPN30 in compliance with EN 10277 for S235JR and EN 10088-3 for AISI 304.
The production range goes from diameter TPN12 to TPN50 with length from 100 mm to 3,000 mm with trapezoidal thread (TPN).
Packaging depends on the length of the bars. The standard requires the bars to be packed on pallets, bundles up to 3,000 mm long placed on special pallets, wooden crates. There is also the possibility to protect the threads of the bar with a special net.
Our company is certified ISO 9001, transformation center (valid for Italy) and EN 1090 (ce marking of the product) Bonfatti filettature has started a sustainable production process, first by installing a 140 kw photovoltaic system and now we will start the procedures to qualify ISO 14001.
