Max-Air Technology: the best way to automate your process

For nearly thirty years, Emme Technology, through its Max-Air Technology brand, has been synonymous with quality and innovation, that companies around the world value across various applications. Rotary actuators are among Emme Technology’s most renowned product, which are available in both pneumatic and hydraulic versions and are used in multiple industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, food, petrochemical, and water treatment. Marketed under the Max-Air brand, these actuators are available in both rack-and-pinion and scotch yoke systems, placing them at the top of the market in terms of quality, precision, and reliability.

The Max-Air range of actuators is one of the most comprehensive available on the market, incorporating the company’s extensive experience gained from applications implemented worldwide over the years. This range is unique due to its exclusive and highly innovative technical solutions, such as the patented double adjustment mechanism, which allows the actuator’s stroke to be adjusted by ±10°. This feature enables users to vary the actuation angle in both opening and closing from 70° to 110°, offering the widest range of adjustment available today for units with either clockwise or counterclockwise operation.

Among the latest additions to Emme Technology’s catalog is the Max-Air AG series rotary actuators, a range scotch yoke actuators designed to excel and endure in demanding applications.
The AG series stands out for its modular design and a set of technical features that enhance alignment and smooth motion, significantly improving performance. Notably, the elimination of stresses caused by lateral loads helps minimize efficiency losses and wear on moving parts.

The perfect alignment of the motion transmission components and return spring is ensured not only by the design but also by the use of high-quality linear bushings and bearings arranged in a redundant configuration. The inclusion of bidirectional travel stops also allows ergonomic—and precise—adjustment of opening and closing positions within tolerances of +/- 5°, optimizing assembly and subsequent maintenance operations.
Configurable as double-acting actuators or spring-return versions, the AG series actuators can accommodate pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders and operate with water-based fluids. The K4 model, the largest in the series, capable of delivering a maximum torque of 40,000 Nm in double-acting configuration, made its official debut at the 2024 edition of IVS, attracting significant interest from industry professionals.
