Testing the performance of a NOx Abatement system using a portable flue gas analyzer
Most power plants on high-power boilers use systems to reduce NOx (e.g., Ammonia Injection, SCR, etc.), with the aim of ensuring that NOx levels comply with current regulations. Frequent testing of the NOx reduction system is essential to identify the necessary adjustments to achieve optimal and economical operation.
Many power plants use CEMS (continuous emissions monitoring system) to analyze the total emissions released from high-power boiler stacks. This information alone is not enough to identify potential shortcomings in the NOx reduction system. Portable NOx emission analyzers can be used to accurately measure the efficiency of NOx reduction systems. These portable instruments can quickly and easily perform emission analysis at multiple points in the process.
Additionally, they allow for emissions analysis both before and after the introduction of reducing substances, enabling technicians to monitor the process in real time, thus achieving maximum efficiency in the NOx reduction process. Instrumental solution: our portable emissions analyzers.
The Si-CA range of analyzers is based on Sauermann’s 45 years of experience which, after reviewing feedback from HVAC-R engineers, have developed instruments that offer significant gains in efficiency and productivity.
All three models, Si-CA030,130, and 230,connect wirelessly to the free Sauermann Combustion app for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, allowing the analyzer to be controlled remotely, viewing measurement results in real time, and creating report files in all common formats. The instruments are also equipped with a large color display, so they can be used independently. The 130 and 230 models feature a large 4.3-inch touchscreen with a customizable graphical user interface, which makes their use even more flexible.
Si-CAs thus bring a digital advantage to combustion analysis: robust, compact, lightweight and intuitive. These analyzers are entirely designed, manufactured and maintained within Sauermann’s production lines and metrology laboratories.
