MAAS Maintenance as a service: Zero Downtime

The European industry is made up of production and process lines with an average obsolescence of over 30 years.
The long life of the systems generates the obsolescence of the electronic equipment, which combined with the installation environment with sudden changes in voltage and current, rich in dust and oils dispersed in the air, cause sudden failures; as well as the recurring shutdown of the lines due to the reprogramming of production both on the basis of energy costs and the discontinuity of the supply chains of raw materials in addition to the shortage of electronic components which shows no sign of decreasing also due to the increase in inflation.

The only solution is to reduce plant downtime, which generates unexpected costs due to lost production, through system consultancy useful for evaluating the state of the plant for the definition of the scheduled periodic maintenance plan and the related budget. Through the system approach it is possible to detect those structural, design, programming and use anomalies of the entire production plant, as well as the improvement of any inefficiencies in the management of maintenance activities with respect to production planning, for the optimization of performance, the reduction of faults and for the definition of dedicated assistance programs.

This is the challenge of E-Repair which for years has supported companies by extending the life of the electronics installed on the line, with a view to circular economy, reducing plant downtime through an as-a-service maintenance model which provides the combination of reactive maintenance services, such as the repair or advance of a remanufactured product and on-site or remote technical intervention, preventive maintenance, for example technological washing, testing and data backup as well as cybersecurity services and finally predictive maintenance services based on the data made available by the client company’s Industry 4.0. Furthermore, in addition to its own warehouse of remanufactured products (CNC, PLC, Servo drives, operator panels, power supplies and various accessories), E-Repair offers the Safety Replacement Service, i.e. a dedicated warehouse, with clones (new and remanufactured) of strategic electronic products for the customer’s system, which are constantly checked and overhauled.
