Everything is ready for the next edition of the world’s leading exhibition dedicated to residential and industrial installations, air-conditioning and renewable energies, scheduled for 13 – 16 March 2018 at Fiera Milano.
Milan, 12nd December 2017 – Preparations are in full swing for the 41st edition of MCE – MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT, the world’s leading biennial exhibition for residential and industrial installations, air-conditioning and renewable energies scheduled for 13 – 16 March 2018 at Fiera Milano. So far, MCE 2018 has registered an attendance of over 1,600 exhibitors, 43% of whom coming from 52 countries, with a rise in the number of exhibiting companies from Turkey, Egypt and India, Country Guest for this year’s edition, occupying an impressive 92% of halls. MCE 2018 will be running for the first time simultaneously alongside BIE – BIOMASS INNOVATION EXPO dedicated to wood-fuelled biomass heating systems.
A wide range of products and new features in store that span all industry sectors will once again be on offer: Heating, Hardware, Tools, Air-conditioning, Refrigeration, Ventilation, Water Treatment, Renewable Energies, Home & Building Automation and electric mobility. MCE 2018 represents a unique opportunity for more than 150,000 professional operators from all over the world to discover personally the top technology trends in this continuously evolving industry.
The concept behind this edition is technological innovation, meaning, in particular, the digitalisation of products and processes, and the integration of the electric and thermal energy systems, and of conventional and renewable energy sources. Cutting-edge systems to ensure adequate air quality, comfort, and energy saving and resource optimisation for the built environment need: from an individual residence to a block of flats, from a warehouse to shopping malls.
Energy efficiency in the industry will be, of course, one of the key driving forces behind MCE – MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT 2018. Over the past few years, the attention of industrial operators to the control on energy consumption has dramatically increased in energy-intensive sectors, and now, it requires a more structural and organic approach. A focus on improving energy efficiency has led to increased investment levels in renewables, as emerges from the data of a research commissioned by MCE – MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT and undertaken by Energy & Strategy Group of the Polytechnic University of Milan on: “Energy efficiency in primary and tertiary industries and the use of woody biomass in the residential sector”.
Two scenarios for investment in energy efficiency measures in primary and tertiary industries were modelled: the first scenario for an economic situation similar to the present one, predicts an increase in new investments by € 7.20 billion in 2017, and is expected to rise to € 9 billion by 2020, with a compound annual growth rate of 8% reaching nearly € 32 billion. The second and more optimistic scenario, assumes a rise to € 10.60 billion by 2020, with a compound annual growth rate of 14% to a value of nearly € 35 billion.
Technology is changing the industry faster than ever before. The national plan 4.0 is one of the measures that the Government has set up to promote the digitalisation of manufacturing and industrial processes and to make them more energy efficient involving not only large companies but also small to medium-sized companies that are at the heart of our economy. Industrial districts of excellence where investments in research and innovation have always been key drivers for growth to compete in a global market.
Technology integration for thermal comfort in the built environment is the common thread running through the initiatives taking place at MCE – MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT 2018. From Factory4.now, a “live” event that will show each stage of next-generation manufacturing processes, to a special focus on MEP BIM, an integrated tool to help you design, fabricate and install mechanical, electrical and plumbing building systems that represents a breakthrough in the construction sector. From a new format for “Percorso Efficienza & Innovazione”, with a selection – made by the Polytechnic University of Milan, ABC Department – of high
performing products and solutions released from exhibiting companies, to THAT’S SMART, an area dedicated to Home & Building automation, Smart metering, Smart grid, Renewable electricity, and remote control apps for plant installations.
“The 2018 edition of MCE – states Massimiliano Pierini, Managing Director, of Reed Exhibitions Italia – comes with a tight schedule of events, and above all, a plan of activities aimed at all our interlocutors. From an increasingly widespread action, over the distribution world in collaboration with Associations and Buying Groups at national level, to specific initiatives aimed to involve even more the design and installation sectors, and further promotions addressed to foreign operators such as “Country Partner” where India is the undisputed protagonist, with a collective area, a commercial delegation and institutional representatives. On top of that, it is worth pointing out that we have launched a business matchmaking service MCE CONNECT, an online platform to facilitate trade show appointment scheduling.” Amongst the novelties, is the one-off event MCE IN CITTA’. For the first time ever, MCE will be open to the general public featuring an amazing lively event to be held from 10 to 18 March, in Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan. A unique opportunity to bring end users’ attention to reduce daily energy waste.”
Not to be missed the high number of events promoted by the main trade associations. ANGAISA (Italian Dealer Association for Plumbing and Sanitary Equipment, HVAC, Flooring, Tiles and Bathroom Fixtures and Fittings), presents CasANGAISA. ANIMA (Federation of Italian Associations of Mechanical, Engineering and Related Industries) that also features a busy calendar of AICARR (Italian Association for Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration) events, seminars and conferences to be held in a dedicated lounge, and much more besides.
