BLUTEK Reliable compressed air in the desert, Blutek case history

Let’s think about the most challenging environments on earth such as desert (+55˚C), arctic areas (−48˚C) or offshore rigs: only reliable machinery can work in such harsh environments. And just there you can find Blutek products that are totally engineered for any application.

One successful project was awarded in 2015 for the SIBA FIELD DEVELOPMENT PROJECT in Iraq. The compressed air package has been designed and manufactured entirely by Blutek in Italy and it is now successfully running 24ƒ7 in Iraq.

For the scope, Blutek provided one compressed air package with 3 air cooled oil free screw compressors, (1200 Nm3ƒh, 9,5 barg) and 2 heatless desiccant dryers (65˚C inlet temperature, −40˚C dew point) suitable to work perfectly in the desert environment with temperatures reaching up to + 55−60˚C and sandstorms.

For the purpose, BLUTEK designed special coolers suitable for the area, innovative self−cleaning pulsejet inlet filters to reduce the cleaning operation and special twin oil filters that allow the cleaning without stopping the units. All components have been realized in SS316L ensuring the best durability of each part.

The skid mounted MCC has soG starter, Common control panel PLC based SIL2 and EX_d, stainless steel coolers and piping. Equipment I&C was fully in compliance for installation in ATEX Zone 2 area classification.

BLUTEK, founded in 2002, is one of the major players in the world specialized in the design and production of totally engineered turnkey packages for service air, instrument air, nitrogen generation, bio−gas and natural gas, offshore and onshore, for any environment and application.

The totally customized units can be designed in accordance with any localƒInternational Standards and certification (i.e. API 619, ISO 10440−1ƒ2, ATEX, API R14, EN60034, ASME VIII DIV. 1 AND U STAMP, PED).

Located in Italy, BLUTEK is present worldwide with its strong network of Agents and Service Centers.
